Poseidon Asia Inc was present with a multi-simulator stand at the National Congress on Maritime Education and Training organized by National Maritime Polytechnic 25-26th of September.
Theme was: Enhancing stakeholders’ collaboration in the Philippine Maritime Education, Training and Certification System
The congress had focus on formulating strategies and policy recommendation that will help the maritime education training and certification. Recognizing that addressing the deficiencies in the EMSA report is important to maintain employment of Filipino seafarers on European ships.
Other important issues on the agenda were the importance of a Quality Standard System, the availability of competent instructors and assessors and the investment in training facilities like simulators.
Participating bodies and speakers were Marina, CHED, PRC, TESDA, PAMI, PAMTCI, Joint Manning Group and AMOSUP.
The Poseidon team attracted considerable interest at the stand that were both ECDIS, navigation, GMDSS and engine room simulators were live at display.
